Liner Agency Services for PIL – Pacific International Lines (PTE) Ltd.

In 1998, Orient Shipping Company was established as a joint venture with Mr. Abdul Hameed Bokhari of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.  The company provides Liner Agency Services for National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (NSCSA).

In 2001, Orient Shipping Ltd started its liner agency services for Pacific International Lines (PIL) which operate weekly full container services from all Asian origins to Egypt.
PIL (Egypt) Ltd was established in 2004 as a joint venture company between Pacific International Lines (PTE) Ltd and the shareholders of Orient Shipping Ltd to Succeed Orient Shipping Ltd as agents of PIL in Egypt. Our offices are located in the major Egyptian ports of Sokhna, Suez, Alexandria, Damietta, and Port Said.  Our head office is located in Cairo in addition to a commercial office in down town.  Our professional and experienced team is here to serve you better.

PIL incorporated in 1967 and has developed from a coastal ship-owner/operator in Singapore to become one of the largest ship-owners in Asia. Today, it is ranked 21st amongst the top container ship operators in the world. PIL has diversified into logistics related activities such as supply chain management, consolidation/distribution facilities, warehousing, container depot operations, trucking, as well as having interest in ship-agencies worldwide, container manufacturing, marine engineering and real estate.
As of October 2004, PIL owns and operates a fleet of 100 vessels with a total TEU capacity of approximately 125,537 TEUs. It has 10 container vessels on order for  November 2006, with a total capacity of 24,252 TEUs. PIL also owns and operates a fleet of more than 249,737 TEUs of marine containers.
PIL operates container liner services covering the whole of the Far East to Europe, the Indian sub-continent, Red Sea/Gulf Ports, East Africa, South/West Africa, Australia and New Zealand. It has a dedicated network of feeder services covering a comprehensive range of ports in South East Asia, the Bay of Bengal and the east coast of India.

In January 2009, PIL Egypt launched its new Sino Black Sea Service that is calling Damietta on weekly basis. This trade lane is served by seven vessels with total capacity of 2600 TEU/vessel.  The new route is serving Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Singapore, Istanbul, Constanza and Illichevsk.
