In 1998, Swift Group established ECU Line Egypt Ltd as a joint venture with ECU Hold N.V., Belgium. ECU Line in Antwerp, Belgium is the world's largest Non Vessel Operated Common Carrier (NVOCC), operating over 120 offices in 60 different countries.

The company is a fully licensed ocean consolidator that focuses on maritime consolidation.

Ecu Line Egypt head office is located in Cairo, performs its operational activities through the branches in Alexandria and Port Said.

Today, Ecu-Line Egypt Ltd became one of the largest Non Vessel Operated Common Carrier (NVOCC) in Egypt. Ecu Line Egypt focuses on inbound LCL services from worldwide origins to Alexandria and Port Said. The company performs the de-consolidation of inbound shipments in a fully secured, bonded CFS warehouse located inside the container terminal in the Dekheila Port and Alexandria Old Terminals.

The outbound LCL services are performed through a weekly consolidated box via Antwerp, and another fortnightly consolidated box via Singapore to worldwide destinations.

Both export services operate from Alexandria through these two gateways, where outbound shipments connect to the worldwide services of Ecu-Line.

From Alexandria, Ecu-Line Egypt offers bonded on-carriage services to Port Said port on a fortnightly basis. Non-bonded on-carriage services are offered to Cairo city limits, Suez, Damietta, 10th of Ramadan and 6th of October Cities.

In March 2009, Swift Group sold its shares in ECU Line (Egypt) Ltd to signify the third success story for Swift Group in building brands to last. The success here is in taking a greenfield joint venture company to be a market leader which results in full acquisition of the company.
